Cricket Team head to regionals in Barrie
The Phoenix men's cricket team had a strong showing when they played at Georgian College on February 28 at the RECCup Regionals.
The team came in second at this tournament will now play in the RECCup taking place March 7 at Fanshawe College.
At the regionals, the Phoenix played their first match against Ontario Tech. The score was 48 runs to 30, with Fleming winning by 18 runs over Ontario Tech. In the second match against St Lawerence, the Fleming Phoenix scored 47 runs, and St Lawerence scored 48 runs with three wickets lost. St Lawerence won by three wickets.
In their third match against Ontario Tech, Fleming scored 50 runs and Ontario Tech scored 34, with Fleming winning by 16 runs. In the fourth match played by the Phoenix, Fleming scored 53 runs, and Cambrian scored 44 runs. Fleming won by nine runs.
In the finals against Durham, Fleming scored 36 runs and Durham College scored 37, with Durham winning the final by four wickets.
