First Competition for Women Powerlifting Team

In their first competition of the season, the Phoenix women's powerlifting team helped Fleming secure the third strongest school award.
Two members of the Phoenix women's team competed at the November 22 competition at Centennial College - Megan Layno and Diana Lauricella.
Megan placed fourth overall in the women's division, while Diana placed eighth. There were 11 women competing in the division.
This was Megan's first powerlifting competition and she had the following results:
- third overall in bench press @ 60kg (132lbs)
- fifth overall in deadlift @ 130kg (286lbs)
- fourth overall in squat @ 102.5 (225.5lbs )
Diana placed seventh in bench press, 10th in the deadlift competition and sixth overall in the squat.
